Good morning...
Yesterday was quite a productive day for me as far as the Speed Ratings are concerned.
However, I do have to admit that I am getting a bit distracted by the question of Pace which may actually be more important that the actual speed figures.
Still, analysis of that will have to wait until the Autumn.
Thank you all for your feedback on the new format PDF; I'm taking every comment into consideration.
So, let's get on and take a quick look at yesterday's results in more detail....
Yesterday's Results, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 34.38%.
The Overall Profit Index. If you had blindly backed every top three rated horse in all of the races you would have had 85.94 units returned to 97 units staked. The Overall Profit Index was, thus, 88.59%
If you'd blindly backed the top rated horse in all the rated races, you'd have had 36.06 units returned for 32 units staked.
However, if you'd blindly backed the second rated horse in all the rated races, you'd have had 27.38 units returned for 33 units staked.
And, if you'd backed the third rated horse in every race, you'd have had 22.5 units returned for 33 units staked.
Forecasts
There were four forecasts yesterday.
Musselburgh 13:40 - The CSF paid £5.53
Chepstow 15:30 - The CSF paid £18.47
Musselburgh 15:55 - The CSF paid £5.48
Down Royal 16:20 - The CSF paid £12.49
Thus, if you had done the forecast in every race you would have had £40.97 returned to £32 staked.
Reverse Forecasts
There were two reverse forecasts yesterday.
Lingfield 16:45 - The CSF paid £10.65
Kempton 19:45 - The CSF paid £13.09
Tricasts/Trifectas
There was one tricast/trifecta yesterday.
Musselburgh 15:55 - The trifecta paid £11.30
Down Royal 15:55 - The tricast paid £34.78
Obviously, if you had done the Ticast/Trifecta in every race you would have had £46.08 returned to £29 staked (and I'm assuming here that a non-runner cancels the bet.)
Reverse Tricasts/Trifectas
There were no reverse tricasts/trifectas yesterday.
Winners
From the 33 rated races there were 21 winners (from the top 3 rated horses) - six of those were at nice prices.
Course | Time | Horse | ISP | BSP |
Down Royal | 14:35 | Keep on Track | 8.0 | 8.39 |
Chepstow | 14:55 | Carningli | 6.0 | 6.0 |
Chepstow | 15:30 | Going Concern | 6.0 | 6.4 |
Kempton | 18:45 | Childesplay | 8.0 | 8.0 |
Kempton | 19:45 | Skidby Mill | 5.5 | 6.13 |
Kempton | 20:45 | New Leyf | 8.0 | 8.07 |
There was neither a Banker's Bet nor a Chancer's Bet yesterday.
On the Portfolio Page there is now a link to the Banker's Bet Proofing Page and, also to the Chancer's Bet proofing page.
You may subscribe to my Portfolio. To do so, you need to go to your Members Page and change option 4 on the Your Profile bit.
If you haven't subscribed, the button will say Yes - just click on it and you'll be signed up.
Today's 6am test ratings show 31 rated races from five meetings.
I'm at that point with the Speed Ratings where I now need to know the length of a horse (at full stretch) and how long a neck or a head is.
If any of you know the answers to these questions then please let me know.
Have a great day's racing!
