Good morning...
Another busy day for me yesterday as I was moving into the final stage of the Speed Ratings.
I've also made a couple of small changes to the new format PDF and I'd like to share them with you today.
And, there's a simple solution to the question of Class for Irish races.
Sometimes the simple solutions are the best.
Anyway, I'll get to that, firstly let's get on and take a quick look at yesterday's results in more detail....
Yesterday's Results, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 33.33%.
The Overall Profit Index. If you had blindly backed every top three rated horse in all of the races you would have had 67.5 units returned to 96 units staked. The Overall Profit Index was, thus, 70.31%
If you'd blindly backed the top rated horse in all the rated races, you'd have had 20.29 units returned for 31 units staked.
However, if you'd blindly backed the second rated horse in all the rated races, you'd have had 23.96 units returned for 32 units staked.
And, if you'd backed the third rated horse in every race, you'd have had 22.5 units returned for 33 units staked.
Forecasts
There were two forecasts yesterday.
Fakenham 13:45 - The CSF paid £1.74
Dundalk 19:05 - The CSF paid £2.12
Reverse Forecasts
There were four reverse forecasts yesterday.
Lingfield 15:15 - The CSF paid £3.27
Fakenham 15:25 - The CSF paid £2.06
Wolverhampton 19:15 - The CSF paid £15.51
Dundalk 21:05 - The CSF paid £16.38
Tricasts/Trifectas
There was one tricast/trifecta yesterday.
Dundalk 19:05 - The trifecta paid £5.80
Reverse Tricasts/Trifectas
There were four reverse tricasts/trifectas yesterday.
Lingfield 15:15 - The trifecta paid £7.60
Fakenham 15:25 - The trifecta paid £4.20
Lingfield 15:50 - The trifecta paid £77.60
Wolverhampton 19:15 - The trifecta paid £15.50
Winners
From the 33 rated races there were 19 winners (from the top 3 rated horses) - three of those were at nice prices.
Course | Time | Horse | ISP | BSP |
Lingfield | 15:50 | Realize | 13.0 | 18.0 |
Dundalk | 19:35 | Showcard | 6.5 | 8.0 |
Dundalk | 20:35 | Sar Oiche | 9.0 | 14.5 |
There was neither a Banker's Bet nor a Chancer's Bet yesterday.
On the Portfolio Page there is now a link to the Banker's Bet Proofing Page and, also to the Chancer's Bet proofing page.
You may subscribe to my Portfolio. To do so, you need to go to your Members Page and change option 4 on the Your Profile bit.
If you haven't subscribed, the button will say Yes - just click on it and you'll be signed up.
I am moving slowly towards getting the Speed Ratings completed and, along the way, I am adding in some of the elements that you have requested for the Winter Upgrades.
There are two changes to the new format PDF that will display the Speed Ratings.
1). Jockey Allowance - As you can see from the partial screenshot above, Jockey Weight Allowances are now shown (in brackets) after the Jockey's name.
2). Change in Class for Irish Races - Now, for UK races I currently show if a horse has changed in class since its last race. I can't do this for Irish races as there are no classes in Irish horse racing.
So, bearing in mind that UK horse racing classes are broadly aligned to the prize money on offer (or vice versa), I have decided to show the change in prize money since the horse's last race for Irish races. In the example shown, Down Ace is running in a far cheaper race than last time out.
Whether this means much in the long run, I am not too sure but it may throw up some extra winners for you.
Today's 3am test ratings show 35 rated races from five meetings.
Have a great day's racing!
Once again, if you've got anything to say about Focus Ratings, please wander over to the Focus Ratings Review at Tipsters Review and have your say.
The income that we make from sign ups from that site keeps me in Red Wine and Smelly Cheese!
As always...
My kindest regards
