Product Description

Fully updated and revised, Well-Handicapped Horses explains in detail how the author sets about analysing form and in particular how he pinpoints horses that have been allotted lenient handicap ratings. In the first addition of the book Jon Gibby identified a handful of horses that he considered to be well-handicapped and they included Kiama Bay, Bawaardi and Agent Archie, whose official ratings subsequently rose by an average of 24lbs after they went on to win twelve races between them.
The new edition builds on that with the addition of a chapter detailing 100 horses considered to be well-handicapped by the author. The reasons behind each selection are given in full. Since the book was sent to the publishers 17 of the 100 horses have run and eight have won and 11 of them have already had their official ratings increased by an average of 7lbs, proving that they were indeed well-handicapped. In the first edition of the book Jon Gibby also tipped Workforce for the Derby at 16/1 and gave a full explanation of why he thought the colt was a leading contender for the Classic. Once again he has suggested some live outsiders for both the Derby and the Oaks.
