A new review site…

n0Bg3VDk_400x400What a couple of weeks!

After all the work that had to take place to ensure that the recent price rise didn't cause too many problems (more work than anticipated, I have to say)...

I then hit major IT problems which I (stupidly) complicated by migrating my entire system from a custom built Linux distribution (running on 3 laptops) to an Apple Mac running OSX (which I've never used before.)

I had to move to an iMac so that I can publish the smartphone apps that I keep waffling about.

Oh, and I finally get it - why you Apple fanboys (and fangirls) love Apples - lovely kit (it's just that it's the exact opposite to what I'm used to using?)

So, it's been a bit of a busy time for me.

Having said that, the new seasons of The Apprentice and The Walking Dead haven't helped much!

I really need to talk to the TV companies about how they schedule their programs - "No good TV when Keith's got work to do!"

However, with most of that work out of the way now, I can move on to doing some of the other things that I've promised recently.

But, before I get on with those things, I want to tell you about a great new service that has just started up (it's free, don't worry, I'm not trying to sell you anything!)

www.tipstersreview.co.uk

Tipsters Review is a great new site where people (like you and me) can review the performance and services of Tipsters, Bookmakers and...

Of course, Ratings services like Focus Ratings!

We've already had one review - take a look at it here... Focus Ratings Review

I like this idea - it really keeps people like me on our toes as I have no way of controlling what people say about Focus Ratings?

So, if you've got anything to say about Focus Ratings, please wander over to Focus Ratings Review and have your say.

And, please...

Be honest?

I'm not going to mind if you say something like... "I'm only giving Focus Ratings 4 out of 5 because Keith hasn't replied to my last email yet!"

Or... "I would have given Focus Ratings 5 out of 5, if only Keith had got round to publishing his Portfolio."

Jill will be monitoring www.tipstersreview.co.uk and, if there are any comments like the above...

She'll be giving me a good whipping (which, secretly, I enjoy - but don't tell her that?)

And then I'll pull my finger out and work out how to resolve the issue.

Honesty and Transparency

I think that the best people to review a Horse Racing related service are the people who actually use it.

It keeps us providers of Horse Racing related services on our toes and...

If it helps guide people away from Dodgy Dick's Terrible Tips, then that can only be a good thing?

When Jill and I started Focus Ratings we were very keen that we ran a totally transparent service...

We display our Results for anyone to see.

We display links to the Independent Reviews of Focus Ratings (and reviews can be negative as well as positive - we're just lucky that we haven't had any negative ones yet?)

And, in our Focus Ratings Handbook, I even explain how I create the ratings! Of course, I don't list the source code or show the formulae that I use - that would be taking honesty and transparency a little bit too far?

And, finally, we offer a one week Free Trial so that people can test out the service for FREE before signing up.

I don't think that we could be more transparent than that.

That's why I embrace the new service that www.tipstersreview.co.uk are offering.

The good guys (and I hope that Jill & I fall into that category) will get good reviews...

The bad guys (like Dodgy Dick's Terrible Tips) will get bad reviews.

And, if Darwin was right, then evolution sorts it all out?

Or, rather, people like you decide which services you'd rather spend your hard earned money on.

That it keeps people like Jill and me on our toes, as well, is just an added bonus?

So, if you feel so inclined, then please wander over to the Focus Ratings Review and have your say.

As always...

My kindest regards
