Free System – RC0 makes it work!

A Free System!

I've been looking at more of the systems that Ang has sent me and...

One of them was the first NH Flat system that I'd seen anyone attempt.

So, I dived into the Builder to take a look.

And...

Then ended up coming up with my own take on Bumpers.

The nice thing is that, what made it work was the inclusion of RC0 (my good race/bad race indicator that I mentioned in Eureka Revisited!)

The rules of the system are incredibly simple...

As I think the best systems are?

R4 Status = 1
Race Type = NH Flat
UK only
Season Proper (October to April only)
RC0=1
Yield>7

System Statistics

There have been 14 qualifying races over the last year.

But these were spread over only 7 months.

From these there have been 6 winners.

That gives us a strike rate of 42.86%

At an average SP of 6.42

This all equates to an ROI of 275.16%

An Explanation...

a). R4 = 1 - Obviously, we should be looking at the horse which is be highest rated horse in the current race.

A good horse, in other words.

b). NH Flat - UK only - As I needed a system for Bumpers, I concentrated on these. In my opinion, Irish Bumpers are too complex to rate.

I'll gladly eat my toenails (in public) if someone can come up with a system based on Irish Bumpers!

Now, there's a challenge?

c). Season Proper - I still don't get this "NH Racing in the summer" stuff.

It appears that the ratings don't understand it either.

d). Yield greater than 7 - Yield is confidence multiplied by FC SP.

We want higher priced horses but those with a high confidence level.

The best of both worlds, in other words?

Thus, Yield is the ideal metric for this (I knew I'd find a use for it sooner or later?)

e). RC0 = 1 - This just concentrates on those races where the ratings are most accurate.

The logic of the system is that we are looking at good horses (Top on R4 and a high yield)..

Which have good prices (High yield)...

Which are running in the proper season.

And are running in the, statistically, most accurate races (RC0=1.)

And that's the logic of the system?

Conclusion

So, I'm quite chuffed that I've now got a NH Flat system.

It will give about 2 selections a month during the proper Flat season but...

I'll certainly be adding it to my portfolio.

My Portfolio

I currently have 12 systems ready to go in my portfolio.

Combined, my 12 systems will give 244 selections a year. I want a selection every day (from my portfolio) so I'm about 67% there?

I've got 4 more systems to review (thanks Ang) but...

The sun is shining so I may pop out for a walk (before it starts raining again - as it surely will!)
